In Memorial: Dr. Thich An-hue

The following talk has been drawn from the University of the West archives to honor the memory of Venerable Thich An-Hue, PhD who passed away recently. Dr. An-hue contributed greatly to UWest (formerly Hsi Lai U.) as a professor and also as the Chair of the Religious Studies Department.

In Spring of 2003 the UWest Religious Studies Department sponsored a special lecture series titled Religion and War in response to the build up and eventual invasion of Iraq by the U.S. led coalition. This video is Dr. Thich An-hue's presentation on Buddhism and War, in which he begins his talk with a short play which presents a person coming across a Shaolin trained monk who has mastered the martial arts.
